Every Last Story enables people to share themselves and their lives in a video capturing memories and moments that will outlast us. The videos we produce together can be used at a milestone celebration, a memorial service or simply given to family and friends privately.
Every Last Story was inspired by Adam Darby, who was diagnosed with cancer in June 2018 and passed away on June 17, 2019. Once he learned that he would not survive the disease, Adam decided to “leave behind not only my appreciation for [loved ones] but also my hopes and dreams for their future.”
That decision gave birth to Every Last Story.
Adam inspired us to share his story and offer others the same opportunity to create living legacies. Maybe there’s a special story you’d like a parent or grandparent to share, or a monumental moment (a child’s birth, graduation, your marriage proposal) that you want remembered. Maybe you’ve learned something over the course of your life that you’d like to pass on. A favorite joke you’d like to tell one last time. Gratitude for whatever’s gone right in your life. Maybe a heartfelt welcome and thanks directed to the people who showed up for your memorial service or funeral.
Videos produced by Every Last Story have captured people nearing the end of their lives and people who are not done yet. We hope it speaks to people at many stages of life. Adult children or friends may want to gift a video to a loved one to preserve their presence and capture the narrative of our lives, even if we don’t know when the final chapter will be written.
Every Last Story is in the beginning stages of development as a non-profit. Our earliest videos are being produced in creative partnership with people interested in the mission and committed to preserving our collective memories. If you’d like to work with us, please email Julie Moos.
This has been a labor of love, with no compensation as we establish a process that we hope will serve anyone who wants to capture their stories without regard to ability to pay. We appreciate your support and look forward to learning your story.
